From a chance find to a lifelong craft

Our journey began with a single, magnificent buffalo hide discovered at a garage sale. What started as an idea to resell quickly transformed into a passion project. With years of construction experience and a natural knack for working with tools, I embarked on a deep dive into the world of leather crafting. This led to collecting exquisite leathers from around the globe, including German, Italian, and American bison. Soon, I was creating unique pieces as gifts, and word quickly spread. KEN PROCTOR LEATHERWORKS has since evolved, with my work featured at farmers' markets and various vending venues in Seattle, Washington.

Uniquely crafted, unmistakably KEN PROCTOR

What sets KEN PROCTOR LEATHERWORKS apart is our dedication to unique craftsmanship. We employ custom dyeing techniques, using unconventional methods like shaving cream or soap to create distinctive bubble textures that give our leather goods a one-of-a-kind appearance. We also incorporate quality stamps imported from Bulgaria, adding heightened detail and a beloved handcrafted touch to every item. Whether it's wallets, purses, knife sheaths, or belts, each piece is a testament to our commitment to artistry and individuality.

Hand-stitched heritage, modern appeal

Our workshop is equipped for both traditional and modern techniques. While I cherish hand-stitching for its authentic touch, an industrial machine handles larger bags, ensuring durability and precision. We also embrace creativity by utilizing repurposed materials, such as old coffee bean bags, which we line with canvas to create stylish and sturdy market bags. This blend of classic craftsmanship and innovative design ensures that our products resonate with both heritage enthusiasts and those seeking unique, sustainable items.

"I want customers to feel the old-school etiquette and heritage vibe in every piece I create. Our leather goods, reminiscent of the 60s and 70s, are designed to stand the test of time and bring joy to happy customers."
